Danielle Copeland is the Director of Leadership Empowerment and Workforce Development for SEIU (Service Employees International Union) Local 2015, representing 400,000 long-term care workers in the state of California. Ms. Copeland leads the local’s Leadership Empowerment System that is grounded in a culture of learning for the members and staff that develop talent and leaders. In addition, she drives the local’s vision to provide access to workplace skill trainings and career pathway opportunities. Prior to joining Local 2015, Ms. Copeland supported national workforce development programs for unionized healthcare worker through her role as Assistant Director of Healthcare Career Advance Program (H-CAP), a national organization of major healthcare employers and SEIU unions. Ms. Copeland also served as the Director of the H-CAP Education Association, a national organization which provides support and assistance to the SEIU healthcare training funds located throughout the country.
Her background in adult education, leadership development, training, and workforce development spans over 20 years. She supported local programs in California, Maryland, Seattle, Pennsylvania, Illinois, New York, Florida, and Washington DC.
She has been a board member of the Baltimore Workforce Investment Board, Maryland Association of Adult Community and Continuing Education, and Board of Directors for the Maryland Workforce Corporation. She currently sits on the board of H-CAP and SEIU Local 2015 Long Term Care Workers Education and Training Trust Fund.
