Grace Liu is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and the Site Director for the East Bay office of Alzheimer’s Association in Lafayette. She joined the Association in 2012 and is responsible for administration and coordinating programs and services for families in Alameda, Contra Costa, and Solano counties. She facilitates two monthly caregiver support groups and a weekly support group for early-stage caregivers, provides family care consultations, and teaches classes on a variety of dementia-related topics.
Grace comes to the field of aging from an untraditional path as she had a successful career managing Hollywood film and TV productions before obtaining a MSW degree from the University of California at Berkeley with a concentration in Gerontology. Her past experience as a family caregiver inspires her to help other caregivers with their journey and informs her teaching and interactions with families.
She joined the CCA board of directors in January 2021.
“I was motivated to join the board because providing and enhancing education opportunities for long-term care workers helps improve their lives and the lives of seniors and people with dementia who are their clients,” she said. “I look forward to bringing a dementia lens to the work of CCA and championing their work in Northern California and the East Bay Area.”
