Gain the knowledge, core skills and ability to start and infuse intravenous fluids and withdraw blood while upgrading your professional accreditation.
The course meets the requirements of the Board of Vocational Nursing and Psychiatric Technicians (BVNPT) for LVNs to become certified in IV therapy and blood withdrawal.
Format: In-Person and Hybrid
Length: Minimum 36 hours
- Eligible students must be current SEIU Local 2015 nursing home members working at a facility that is actively contributing into the Education Fund.
- LVN license or successful completion of an approved vocational nursing or registered Nursing Program or equivalent
Wrap-Around Services: Support with enrollment and ongoing case management

- IV Therapy & Blood Withdrawal methods, PICC lines, central lines and IV pumps.
- Review of human body anatomy and functions, electrolytes and fluids, IV solution concentrations, IV preparation, vein selection and live practice.
