In-Home Caregiver Training

Free Training For In-Home Support
Services (IHSS) Caregivers in California

Become a CPR-certified, confident, and trained caregiver. Earn up to a $300 stipend upon graduation.

Our free caregiver training is offered in six languages and is designed specifically for adult learners with varying levels of education. Our training program has been proven to enhance care, reduce emergency room visits and inpatient stays, and reduce caregiver isolation, loneliness, and depression.

All our classes are instructor-led and held live on the online video conferencing app Zoom. For those unfamiliar with this free, easy-to-use app, we offer assistance to get you up and running quickly.

CCA offers classes in Spanish, English, Armenian, Mandarin, Cantonese, and Korean.

We offer three programs:

  1. IHSS+ Home Care Integration: A 10-week training course that equips caregivers with a new set of skills and prepares them to become a recognized member of their consumer’s care team. Training includes infection control, nutrition and body mechanics, medication adherence, CPR, first aid, and home safety.
  2. IHSS+ Alzheimer’s: A 10-week training program that teaches caregivers practical skills to help them care for seniors experiencing symptoms of Alzheimer’s disease and related dementia.
  3. Caregiver Resiliency Teams Project: A six-week training program designed to teach caregivers how to prepare for, respond to, and recover from climate-related emergencies.

“The value of this is more than something you feel in your heart. It also builds trust and allows for better communication among the team.”
Okesha Reese, IHSS provider
Los Angeles, California
